My Little Fringe Tree in Bethlehem NH

by Steve McRae (Landscape Consultant & Designer, Entrepreneur)

I was missing my fringe trees in Temple, NH so I decided to go back to the source and buy another for my very northern home in Bethlehem, NH. A couple weeks ago we went back to Brown’s Nursery in Thetford, Vermont to find another fringe tree. It sits awaiting planting now as I’ve not quite decide exactly where to plant it, but it is now fully leafed out and in full fragrant blossom. I hope it survives our nasty winters up here. It might be touch and go for a while if it even survives the first winter. Here are is a photo of my new little fringe tree. Update: It survived the first winter with flying colors, but we had tons of snow so it was more protected that if we’d had a cold windy snowless winter. At one point the little guy was almost buried. Winter number 2 isn’t that far off… another 6 months?
